Japanese Pokemon trainers will be very excited to hear that finally Pokemon GO will be launched in Japan - July 20.
Pokémon Go is currently available in over 30 countries, including the U.S., Canada and much of Europe, but Japan has so far been left off the list. That’s upset and frustrated a lot of true Pokémon addicts since Japan is the birthplace of Pokemon.
John Hanke - Niantic CEO, recently told Forbes that the delay is because the companies behind the app want to ensure that its servers are suitable to withstand the demand that the Japan launch is sure to generate.
Together with the launch, Niantic has also partnered with McDonald’s Japan to bring sponsored Pokémon Go gyms to local trainers. The fast food giant, with 3,000 plus McDonald’s stores all over Japan, will become official Pokémon gyms, thanks to the deal.
With Japan’s launch today, it will be only a matter of time before Pokémon Go is released in other Asian countries, including the Philippines. So Trainers, are you ready to catch 'em all?
